Where paper meets time

Did you know that paper clutter is usually a symptom of
POOR TIME MANAGEMENT rather than organizational skills?

Here are some tips to help gain control over that paper piling up!

First, Improve your filing system
ask yourself some questions:
Is your current system too complicated?
Are you worried that if you file it you may not be able to find it again?

Here are a few tips to try:

Start by filing by topic. School classes, Church calling, Bank statements, etc.
Color code and label each folder clearly so it is easy to find.

Then, set aside time to process paperwork DAILY.
The biggest mistake people make is just checking incoming paperwork and saving it as "new" because they don't want to deal with it right away.

Check and file your mail everyday. Set aside 15 minutes to open, sort, and file so there isn't a pile up at the end of the week. If you are worried about forgetting to pay a bill because it's filed away. Try using a visual reminder. A post-it note or put it in your calendar so it's not fogotten.
